What is the white stone on the walls inside of the arcade made out of? Limestone, concrete or something else??
Just passing through on the way home. Nice upscale mall very elegant very pleasant atmosphere always. They have very unique items . Awesome😊😊😊😊
MoreFriggin cool place for sure. Made me wish I could go back in time and see it in its Glory days
MoreInteresting array of shops and restaurants with both exterior and interior entrances for rainy days. The handcrafted lamp and furniture place is beautiful!
MoreA wonderful collection of shoppes! The arcade opens at 8am but the shops don’t open till 10am. Spend some time getting breakfast around the corner if you can!
MorePerhaps not what I was expecting based on reviews and online information? Unique building with interesting architecture and history. Outside are some tables of local crafts. Inside are a few small shops and places to eat. If you are visiting and out exploring the streets it's an interesting walk through.
MoreOne of the popular place to be in Asheville is Grove Arcade. It was very beautiful and also a center of attraction. Didnt visited any store in particular as It was overwhelming looking at the place. The holiday mode was still on. The christmas tree and the lighting were fascinating. Loved the stores from outside but due to time constraint couldnt visit any of them.
MoreThis is a very nice place, however, the shopping could be way better based on the building. I have heard rumors of a "restructure" if they are true this will be a great place to shop in about 6 months!
MoreCool old place, decent variety of food options, stores are more eclectic and for very specific tastes.
MoreBeautiful inside this little mall area. Great restaurants, but few shops. Neat bookstore, small fruit, veggie and health food store, gem store. I bought earrings here.
MoreBeautiful architecture. Nice shops in and around.
Exceptionally delightful place to visit. Lots of specialty shops and one fabulous bookstore!
MoreGreat spot to feel the light of the outdoors, indoors! When the weather's not great, this is a bright, open spot to come to. Quaint shops and small tables line the atrium, including a side entrance to Malaprops - an amazing bookstore and coffee shop and champagne bar!
MoreThe stores weren’t appealing at all. We were in and out in 5 minutes and only walked into a furniture store, which was good if that’s what you’re shopping for. Stay on the streets for the best shops.
MoreI love this shopping mall~ Definitely worth a visit even if just to admire the building. Although I've been visiting since I was 12, the atmosphere still leaves me spellbound ( definitely look up when you walk inside ). Favorite shop inside is Asheville NC Home Crafts, such beautiful yarn and tool options as well as handmade gifts! I apprenticed with one of their artists a long time ago when the shop was in a different location in the building and still use those skills today~ There's also outdoor vendor space where local artists can sell their work, very well designed space! The history of the building is worth looking into as well~ This a very special place to me, I hope others enjoy it as much as I do. <3
MoreThe yarn and crafts store was fabulous. I had a great time talking with the ladies who work there. I wish that I could shop for my yarn there all the time and not just on vacation. Lots of yarn to choose from.
MoreSuch a nice place to walk around and grab food. I watched two homeless guys argue over buskin' turf.. good times! Coming back!!
MoreBeautiful place inside, with high ceilings and sky lights. Definitely worth walking through. Most of the shops were only okay, but you'll find a few good ones!
MoreOnce a US Government building for military operations. The Grove Arcade has been transformed into a adaptive reuse miracle. Used for a variety of purposes, the structure contributes greatly to the streetscape and historic aesthetic of downtown Asheville.
MoreI would definitely go back. If only I lived in beautiful N.C.
This place is amazing. Wonderful amazing architecture tons of details look around for them. Lots of interesting local shops, my mother loves the yarn shop there.
MoreMy favorite crystal store lives here. Go to Enter the Earth. They have some of the most beautiful specimens and they know their rocks. They are super helpful and good hearted.
MoreNice little shopping area. Some stores are pretentious and overpriced but you will figure those out right away. Worth a visit.
MoreThe shops are of a very particular taste. Their best customers are probably each other. The architecture is beautiful, but that's all I found interesting.
MoreSmall indoor/outdoor shopping mall with some unique items in an old converted federal building. Not very busy during the week. Has a few restaurants around the outside that looked good for lunch or dinner. Also, has a nice coffee shop. Parking around the outside is metered.
MoreI moved away from Asheville at the end of 2015 and when I moved back March of 2019 I was pleasantly surprised of all the “little upgrades” downtown has gotten, especially the Grove Arcade. Being able to use a credit card for parking is awesome 😄 I purposely stopped at the bank to get a roll of quarters before coming becuase I remembered before I moved away that’s all the meters would take. So glad to see the parking at the Grove Arcade is now modernized making it easier to update your time while you’re shopping in all the great establishments 💖
MoreEvery shop is amazing: crafts, clothing, musical instruments, you could spend a day here.
MoreUpscale shopping center with higher end shops and unique ornate items. Very clean and well built with beautiful shops and higher end goods. No food available here but it has its own parking surrounding this covered shopping center. Large white building in commercial sector of Asheville.
MoreEXCELLENT Shops and Restaurants.Love this place.
Nice shopping center downtown, cool architecture, shops are worth visiting.
Very nice historic building. Lots of shops. Parking is difficult, but there is a parking garage across from one end of the arcade. Generally pricey.
MoreVery nice stuff. Every genre of crafting was on display. And across the street...shopping for Piwi.
MoreGreat array of shops. Not leaving five stars because they find jewelry store I went into smelled of mold. The stores without carpeting did not smell of mold. Since mold is a neurotoxin that can make people very ill I can't give a 5 stars on this property.
MoreVery nice and upscale place, very pricey tho.
I LOVE this place. And "Enter the Earth" is my MUST stop to see the gorgeous displays to get myself and friends some goodies. Inside, outside, spend the day. Yummy food, Books, Eclectic clothes and jewels, its ASHEVILLE!!
MoreGrove Arcade was a really neat place to visit. The architecture is so fascinating, and the little shops were so nice to stroll through.
MoreThe name does not do this place justice. The exterior of this giant building is ringed with a variety of good restaurants and you'll also find great craft booths set up along the Battery Park side, but once you've explored the exterior, make sure you don't miss the interior of this building. (There are four entrances, one at the middle of each side.) It is architecturally and historically a treat to behold and its history is illustrated on tablets at the center, around the elevator. The interior also houses a good number of quaint little shops of interesting variety and if your feet are tired from a long day of exploring, there's always "Wake", a luxurious foot spa located right in there, too!
MoreCharming, elegant shopping experience. This historic property has many local vendors for clothing, gifts, dining, and pampering. Many unique options.
MoreHistorical gem in downtown. Houses offices upstairs and little shops downstairs and outside. It's a small elegant mall! Come inside for clothing, crystals, jewelry, and other unique handcrafted arts! Tour the outside for restaurants, a wine bar, a champagne bookstore, and an outside craft market with local vendors!
MoreGood waking area. Very hippy/chic vibe
Great space. Right across from, the parking garage so easy parking. Very nice buddie business owners all around.
MoreFun place, unique gifts, a little pricey.
Love the history of this space. Really nice shops selling items you won't find elsewhere. Outside has some stalls on the street for vendors. Nice atmosphere.
MoreBeautiful little local shopping place. Read the history display in the center - remarkable story!
MoreLovely old fashioned shopping arcade. The architecture is gorgeous.
Absolutely beautiful historic structure in pristine condition. Shops are mostly local and a bit pricey, but it's worth a walk around just to admire the building itself. So glad this structure has survived all these years. Check out the middle of the building for some posters with history of the place.
MoreGreat little collection of stores. Clean and well-kept.
This place is too crowded for me. Its possible to find a parking spot. You might have a better chance
MoreIt's a great spot downtown. Almost seems like a different world inside there. They have several cute shops, restaurant, and even a little whole foods market. Also, their facilities are well maintained and cleaned!
MoreI was expecting more but we were there on a Tuesday where I think a lot of shops are closed on Tuesdays. It also seems to cater to wealthier people which was not us.
MoreThis whole town is an incredible step back in time. I spent hours just walking around & looking at the unique buildings & the old quaint streets. The Grove Arcade was especially interesting. All independent owners displaying their crafts. No commercial junk, just authentic wares. I highly recommend going to the Grove Arcade as you discover Asheville.
